Alright so... I don't know about y'all, but I've always dreaded the dentist. Honestly there's no particular reason why, it's just always been something I've never looked forward to for some reason. Here recently, my perspective has officially changed. It's really just all about finding the right dentistry for you, with the right environment that truly makes you feel welcomed and comfortable.
Here recently, I was introduced to Chapel Hill Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Chapel Hill! I left my dental appointment there, and I kid you not, I actually had FUN and had such a great experience. I'm twenty-six years old, and have never left the dentist actually wanting to go back. That may sound a little crazy... but it was honestly that great of an experience!
The second I walked in, the women at the front desk were super kind and welcoming - and they greeted me with smiles on their faces. I also immediately loved how bright and clean the front reception area was (I'm weird and pay attention to things like that, haha!). And, I loved the office decor!
Not only was the office staff super friendly, but I had the BEST hygienist, Ashton! I actually met her back when I was in college at UNC-Greensboro, and we've stayed in touch every since! I explained to her how I've always kind of been hesitant of the dentist, and she made me realize it doesn't have to be like that. She made my cleaning FUN, and I love how she explained to me exactly what she was doing as she was doing it. She took my gum measurements (I didn't even know that was a thing), and she took my X-Rays, which I literally used to hate getting done! It wasn't a tense feeling visit at all. It was such a comfortable and laidback environment, that I honestly forgot my teeth were being cleaned!
Most importantly, Dr. Furgurson was amazing! Right off the bat, I could easily tell how personable and genuine he was. He explained certain details he noticed about my teeth and he answered all my questions openly and honestly. I also had a lot of questions about whitening procedures they offered, and he helped me figure out the best option that was best for me.
I ended up choose the Opalescence Teeth Whitening! I definitely am pleased with going forth with this option, because it also strengthens the tooth enamel and reduces teeth sensitivity. These whitening tray's can be used whenever I want, which I think is super convenient. (I will keep y'all posted here soon with before & after pics!) They also offer other whitening services, such as Zoom! They offer something for everyone. It's clear after my appointment with Dr. Furgurson today, his overall goal is to help you achieve your fullest dental potential, no matter what service you need!
